John was born in Neosho Missouri and has lived his whole life in Southwest Missouri. He and his wife Marilyn have been married since June 1st, 2017. They have seven children Tim, Morgan, Zoie, David, Triston, Tanner and Brandon. By the grace of God, John and Marilyn have been in recovery from substance abuse since March 10th, 2016. They love sharing the Gospel with people of similar backgrounds and struggles. They work with multiple churches and organizations to share the Gospel with the lost. John was licensed for Recovery Ministry Aug 5th, 2018, He became Associate Pastor at Splitlog Baptist Church December 1st, 2019, and was ordained for Gospel Ministry April 18, 2021. John and Marilyn were approved as Missionaries with the North American Missions Board in December of 2022.

John is the Lead Pastor/ Church Planter at In Christ Alone Baptist Church in Fairview, MO (2022), Founder/ Director of Renewal 12:2 Ministries Inc., which is a Christ centered, long-term, live-in recovery program in Anderson, MO (2021), Founder/ Director of Come As You Are Christian Recovery at Splitlog Baptist Church in Goodman, MO (2016) 

John is a Missouri Recovery Support Specialist, Peer Support Specialist, Certified Reciprocal Peer Recovery, Medication Awareness Recovery Specialist, and Missouri Associate Alcohol and Drug Counselor II. John works with Newton and McDonald County Missouri Treatment Courts, and he is a trainer for the Missouri Credentialing Board.
